The Old Bemrose Grammarian Association (OBGA) has proposed a reunion dinner for November, 2002.  If you are interested in attending this event please email Donald Sarfas at donald.sarfas@which.net .  The OBGA needs to know, as soon as possible, how many people would be interested so that they can decide if the event can be held.  Click here to read more.

Bemrose.org has just heard from Cliff Billington about a mini reunion the happened on July 13 at the Rowditch on Uttoxeter Road.  Congratulations to the gathered members of 5A from 1963.  Read the account and see a photo of the event below.  Thanks for the report Cliff.

Forty Years On

A mini reunion has been held. It may have been 'mini' but at least it happened. Inspired mainly by the bemrose.org site, 5 members of the class 5A school photo got together on July 13 at the Rowditch Inn.

Dave Beresford, Cliff Billington, Paul Dodd, Mick Lowe and Tom Trinder swapped stories both old and new over a few beverages. Having not all been together for 39 years, there was a hell of a lot to get through. One thing that came over loud and clear was that the contents of the website are so far only scratching the surface of the tales that could be told (if we had the nerve to send them in). A few eye openers are promised in the near future! It was also obvious that there was something very special about Bemrose. A spirit worthy of keeping going via the swapping of reminiscences and experiences, either via the web, or even better by a get-together.

We can recommend the Rowditch as a meeting place, good atmosphere and ales. We actually used to do our illicit drinking in the Bedford Arms, whilst the staff used the
Rowditch, but apparently the Bedford has gone downhill a bit.

Only a modest beginning perhaps, but it is hoped to repeat the evening, perhaps towards the end of the year. If there is anyone out there from the 5A photo who fancies coming along, then get in touch cliff.billington@ntlworld.com
