| A Bemrose school
tie, pictured to the left without food stains. The tie
was useful not only as a piece of clothing, but also served
well as a hiding place for crib notes, and as a means for
Ronnie Hanlon to immobilize us (also required a vice) while
he punished and tormented us in woodwork class.

A photo of my 6th form scarf
(c 1965). I expect that I obtained it by going to
lost property and claiming I had lost one. Didn't we
all do that?

| The distinctive
prefects tie, pictured left. Click here to add your comments about the prefects tie. "When the upper 6th form were taking exams, the chosen few in the lower year were appointed 'temporary prefects'. I remember the rush to borrow a tie from a real prefect to show that you had been chosen and were to be obeyed without question! " ~Cliff Billington (Sparrow) (Picture kindly provided by Keith Bell)

What it cost your Mum and Dad in 1968 for your Bemrose School uniform. The hat was a total waste of money, because it usually got nicked on your first day and thrown over the fence. Click here to add your comments (Scan kindly provided by Mick Geraghty) |
